Taranis is an integrated single axis stepper drive and controller solution offering a unique range of features.
Due to its unique design around a TI digital signal processor (DSP) the basic analogue techniques used to drive stepper motors have been replaced by direct digital control to improve stepper performance and controller capability.
The Basic like language can be combined with the on board opto-isolated digital input and output and the encoder feedback to provide control for part or all of a machine; alternatively several Taranis systems can be connected via a serial multi-drop cable to allow control from a single host.

Programming
Taranis uses a specially developed BASIC-like motion language, combined with a user friendly Windows development package; Nimbus. Applications are easily developed and can be fixed into the onboard Flash EPROM to quickly create stand alone turnkey systems.
Nimbus PC Support package
The program editor features automatic colour highlight of key words, variables etc, cut and paste between multiple program windows and plain ASCII source files. Comprehensive debugging facilities allows monitoring of application and system variables, I/O status and error messages.
